“Let's Rage” didn’t exactly become “RageOn”, but it certainly did inspire and become a big part of RageOn. Here is a story of how the phrase “Let's Rage”, that means to celebrate the fact that you’re alive, helped spawn the “World’s Largest All-Over-Print Online Store!”
What could be better than awesome clothes and this message? Well, what if we combined a bunch of great artists, musicians, and brands from around the world and built one community where they could all express themselves through their merchandise?
What if we could give these creative people the ability to be limitless in their ideas and creations? Instead of screen printing, what about allowing them to print in a way where the design could go all the way to the edges of the sleeves or wrap around the back, and then make stuff in a super “green” way - with zero waste? What if we allowed them to make anything they wanted - T-Shirts, Tank Tops, Sweatshirts - even cell phone cases and underwear, all on-demand?
Mike was dreaming big of something that was unheard of at the time.
After being involved in the music industry for over a decade, Mike Krilivsky dug deep into his contacts and pitched this vision to his friends, artists, musicians, and manufacturers around the world. Brands and Artists loved the idea, but manufacturers told Mike that it was impossible. The manufacturers told Mike that he needed to print in bulk, otherwise it would be too expensive.
Krilivsky didn’t take no for an answer and went on a worldwide hunt from China to California. Sadly, he failed and came up with nothing good… Until one day, when he got introduced to a manufacturer that printed for the Boston Red Sox while he was living in Boston. He thought that if this guy could handle the Red Sox, he might be able to handle the vision of what Mike would soon build - the “World’s Largest All-Over-Print Online Store”
The Boston manufacturer said Yes!... Well, actually he said “Yea yea yea… shuah kehd, I’ll get the fahkin equipment, leave me alone, let me do my job - I’ll get it done.” Mike said, “Are you sure? I’m going to build the ‘World’s Largest All-Over-Print Online Store’ and you’ll probably need night staff, weekend staff and more to handle the volume of orders that we’ll bring?” The Boston manufacturer said no problem, purchased the equipment, Mike started getting deals solidified with his network of creators, and then off to the races!
On Oct 15, 2013, Mike launched the first version of RageOn.com with 5 different brands and it was the biggest day in website traffic and sales for to date!
Everything was fantastic until there was actually too much demand and the Boston manufacturer couldn’t keep up! Mike had to make a quick decision - he found another manufacturer and proved to them that with his idea and systems, this specialized printing on-demand method could work! Shortly after, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio to pursue his dream with RageOn. Mike recruited members and built the team from 2-20 people in 2014 and grew it to millions of fans!
This was the start and continuation of something beautiful. Check out what came next:
